Join us for lunch at noon in The Walton Arms, Old Chester Rd, Warrington WA4 6TG near Walton Hall, the former home of the Greenall brewery family https://www.warrington.gov.uk/waltongardens. The pub is easily found by taking the A56 towards Warrington from J11 of the M56, and turning right after about 4 miles at the traffic lights with a sign for Walton Hall and Gardens. There is a large pub car park for customers, and some street parking along Old Chester Rd.
The walk of approximately 6 miles will start at 1:30 pm from the pub car park and takes in a short stretch of the Bridgewater Canal to Moore, across fields to Hatton, and along a lovely stretch of the Delamere Way to Hill Cliffe, before returning downhill through Walton Gardens. Hill Cliffe is less than 100m above sea level but gives panoramic views across Warrington towards Winter Hill. The going is easy with good paths, tracks and quiet lanes throughout, and no steep inclines.
